Nature-Walk to Bajrabarahi Forest

It was a wonderful Nature-Walk this morning to the Bajrabarahi Forest. I would like to thank all for making this event successful. The purpose of this Nature-Walk was to introduce this beautiful place both naturally and culturally reach and to help conserve the wildlife / Birds and flora of this forest.

I would like to thank "Jyotidaya Sangh" the caretaker of this forest and Narayan Dai for the arrangements and support. Also like to thank Som G.C., Raju Acharya from Friends of Nature, Om Yadav from PhotoWalk Nepal and Ajay Deshar from Young Picasso, Ghanashyam Khadka from Kantipur and Bimal Khadka from K&K College. Thanks to all who participated and made the day !

About Bajrabarahi Forest:
30- minutes drive away from the Kathmandu city, Bajrabarahi is famous for bird watching surrounded by a lust forest. A wide variety of bird spices and around 166 spices of flora including rare orchids are found in the jungle. Birds like Rufous Woodpecker, Fulvous-breasted Woodpecker, Great Barbet , Blue-throated Barbet, White-throated Kingfisher, Rose-ringed Parakeet, House Swift, Rock Pigeon, Ashy Wood Pigeon, Oriental Turtle Dove, Black Kite, Crested Serpent Eagle, Upland Buzzard, Steppe Eagle, Common Kestrel, Long-tailed Shrike heard, Red-billed Blue Magpie, Grey Treepie, Scarlet Minivet, Black Drongo, Blue Whistling Thrush, Verditer Flycatcher, Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher, Grey Bush Chat, Common Myna, Jungle Myna, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, Great Tit, Barn Swallow, Red-vented Bulbul, Black Bulbul, Oriental White-eye , Hume's Warbler, Olive-backed Pipit and the most interesting Spiny Babbler can be spotted around the area.

The area is also famous for research work on wildlife.
